General Information

 
The mission of ASWA is to enable women in all accounting and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession. In order to achieve the goals stated in our mission, the Birmingham Chapter will provide two $1,000 scholarships to two outstanding women majoring in accounting in Birmingham area colleges and universities. We want to strongly encourage women pursuing their career in accounting to apply for these scholarships.


Eligibility

  
1.Shall be either a part-time or full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or an equivalent designated post-baccalaureate certificate of accounting.
2.Shall have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with a declared major in accounting.
3.Must have an overall 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
4.Shall be attending an accredited college, university or professional school of account.
5.Need not be a member of ASWA.
6.Must have completed application and included two letters of reference, a copy of the applicant's college transcript(s), and a copy of the financial transcript, if available.
